Red and Black Fruit Salad


Mixed nuts and a hint of mint add another dimension to fruit salad.

Prep: 15 minutes Stand: 15 minutes

Total time: 30 minutes

Makes: 4 servings


– 2 apples (I chose Gala), sliced. To prevent browning, rub slices with lemon halves. If in season, substitute 2 red plums, pitted and sliced

– 1 cup raspberries

– 1 cup blueberries

– 1 tablespoon sugar

– 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice

– 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

– 2 tablespoons unsalted mixed nuts (or shelled pistachios), chopped

– 3 mint leaves, coarsely torn (about 1 tablespoon)


1. Toss apples (or plums), raspberries, and blueberries with sugar, orange juice, and cinnamon; let stand 15 minutes. Serve sprinkled with nuts (or pistachios) and mint.
